OS472 Walnut
OS486 Terra Cotta

Other
Artist's acrylics - Gold (from art supplies, not ceramic)
Spray fix or brush on sealer
White stiff bristle brushes of assorted sizes
10/0 liner or detail brush

More Details:

Wipe down bisque with a damp sponge and brush to remove any dust or debris. Let dry

Base coat all pieces, including bottoms with Duncan Walnut acrylic OS472. Make sure to work paint into crevices and smooth out so brush strokes do not show. Make sure paint does not puddle in the crevices. Let dry thoroughly.

Using a DRY stiff bristled brush, begin drybrushing pieces with cross strokes so as to pick up all detail. Apply small amounts building up color with layers rather than increasing paint on your brush. When you have desired contrast, stop. (see photos above right)

Using gold acrylic from artist's paint (in tube) and your small liner or detail brush. Paint details and accents on the kings and kings camels. Add as much detail as you like to things like bridles, saddle horns, jewels, crowns, treasure, gifts, robe trim, etc. Again, reference photos for examples. The artist's gold is much more vibrant and shiny as opposed to typical ceramic and craft paints.

When dry, spray with a ceramic fixative or brush on sealer.... matte or gloss - whichever is your preference.
